  • Oversee various areas of corporate accounting, primarily revenue and cash functions, as well as supervise staff

  • Review lease and loan documents for proper accounting treatment

  • Perform tasks related to month-end close process, including but not limited to:

  • Plan close activities and deadlines

  • Prepare/review and analyze general ledger balances, journal entries, and account reconciliations to ensure all transactions are properly recorded in compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements

  • Investigate fluctuations, trends, and variances in financial data

  • Support day-to-day accounting functions, including the following:

  • Approve employee expense reports

  • Review capital expenditures additions in our fixed asset software

  • Prepare and/or review supporting schedules for quarterly financial reporting

  • Provide assistance for external audits

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve processes of the department

  • Research technical guidance under GAAP, as necessary

  • Other ad-hoc accounting tasks


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience (2+ years of experience in managing a team of direct reports)

  • Experience with month-end close tasks and reconciliations

  • Experience in the REIT or real estate industry preferred, but not required

  • CPA designation a plus

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Highly detail-oriented

  • Results-oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against tight deadlines

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with MRI and SAP/BPC preferred, but not required
