VP OF FINANCE & ACCOUNTING

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and tax returns in accordance with company
  • Ensure the region maintains tax compliance with relevant regional requirements (including state based revenue taxes in both the USA and Canada).
  • Manage the annual audit process with external auditors
  • Maintain company registers with governmental filing
  • Ensure compliance with international reporting and directives issued by parent company
  • Lead local tax planning initiatives
  • Manage the monthly reporting of financial results, ensuring timely, relevant, and accurate management reports
  • Manage both the forecast and budget process and preparation for submission to parent company
  • Interpret accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of cost, budgets, policies of operation and trends with the view to identifying where profit growth may be achieved and
  • Active participation in regional management meetings, proactively identifying business improvement opportunities, which ultimately aid wider company efforts to achieve financial targets and KPI’s.
  • Adhere to parent company finance directives, financial reporting and FP&A requests.
  • Drive loss prevention strategies and processes, protecting company
  • Analyze forward indicators in the business
  • Analyze all new investments for appropriate cost benefit
  • Manage regional credit risk and follow up bad
  • Manage regional cash flows, optimizing interest returns while maximizing remittances back to
  • Ensure appropriate corporate governance policies are in place and enforced, comply with head office

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required (inactive status is OK)
  • 10+ years of professional experience with at least 2 years at the VP level.
  • 2+ years of experience at a national public accounting firm
  • 5+ years of full oversight of Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Financial Analysis
  • International company experience highly preferred
  • Strong supervisory and leadership experience
  • Apparel industry experience is required
