The Senior Accountant –will assist with multiple disciplines of the accounting department, reconciling the company bank accounts, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, leading reconciliation and review process for corporate expense report management, company credit card reconciliation, intercompany billing reconciliations, managing corporate insurance premium reconciliation, inputting payroll journal entries, performing global payroll reconciliations, and performing treasury functions (entering Wire/ACH templates, initiating payments in online banking platforms, recording bank transactions in the general ledger).

Objectives of this Role

  • Assist in Corporate Accounts payable payment cycle and ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Assist in processing of outgoing payments to vendors via entry in online banking platforms.
  • Manage daily cash positions and track cash balances
  • Manage and serve as Administrator for all banking portals and Treasury Management System
  • Assist in identifying and implementing Treasury Management System
  • Open and close bank accounts and manage relationship with various banks
  • Prepare cash forecasting and ad hoc financial analysis at the request of Management
  • Initiate wire and ACHs and perform remote desktop deposits
  • Review Client Analysis Statements monthly to verify bank fees
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, loans, and government contracts
  • Review monthly financial statements in conjunction with Senior Accountants to ensure timely and accurate reporting of transactional data for multiple communities
  • Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
  • Provide oversight and support to team of Senior and Staff Accountants and cultivate team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
  • Produce and maintain daily cash positions including bank account transaction analysis and cash concentration
  • Domestic and international wire processing
    • Review and verify all wire information, to ensure sufficient funds, correct information and approvals prior to processing
    • Establish and maintain documentation for wire requests
    • Respond to requests for confirmation of incoming funds
  • Open and close bank accounts
    • Work with requestor to verify account type information to open new accounts
    • Partner with bank regarding required documents to open and close accounts and obtain appropriate approvals and notarization, if necessary
    • Notify required parties in timely manner
    • Update all required databases with relevant information
  • Serve as administrator of online banking sites
    • Add and delete users as needed
    • Assist in resolving user issues, including password resets, access to additional accounts, entitlements and all other questions.
    • Assist with treasury workstation management
  • Retrieve bank statements for all bank accounts and complete analysis against TMS
  • Utilize Treasury Management System to input forecast transaction to generate a forecasted positioning
  • Maintain intercompany loans in TMS
  • Create Top-level bills in accounting system for ultimate settlement of intercompany Accounts Payable
  • Record transfers in accounting general ledger applying payment for intercompany Accounts Payable
  • Process payments centrally from communities to Management Company

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong excel skills and technically inclined mindset for process improvements;
