SENIOR CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTANT
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and reconcile Actual vs. Budget job costs detail to GL, including WIP, Warranty Accruals, Station Sales, COGS, Capitalized Expenditures, Commissioning, Labor, Customer Deposit and Accrued Revenue/Receivables.
- Read and evaluate Project Contracts including multi-element deliverables to prepare monthly reports supporting the revenue recognition assessment ensuring the compliance with ASC606 Revenue Recognition Rules.
- Setup new construction projects/sites in the system with their respective budgets,
- approved revenue, costs, and budget change orders via automated workflow within the system.
- Prepare, analyze and review the percent of completion excel sheet for sales projects, including the estimates to complete, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the revenue, costs and accruals recognized.
- Explain the underlying factors of margin deviation in Sales and Margin Report Analysis.
- Oversee completeness and accuracy of all journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
- Work with the Construction department to verify accuracy of budgets and closing of construction projects.
- Develop new procedures to shorten the current close process.
- Actively contribute to the development of global accounting policies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Actively participate in year-end audits and quarterly reviews, including preparation of audit support schedules and related requests.
- Actively adhere to written policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure SOX 404 compliance.
- Serve in a supporting role with respect to the internal (e.g., Month Financial Package) and external (e.g., Form 10-K and Form 10-Q’s) reporting processes.
Requirements:
- Preferred at least six (4) years of construction/ job cost accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting.
- Experience with MS Dynamics 365 preferred
- Great computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel intermediate level)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with great organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to communicate timely, professionally, and cross-functionally.
