Real estate investment client is looking for a Senior Associate for their Life Sciences portfolio. The position is based in North San Diego.

This is a newly created role with a well-established firm.

Comp: $100-110K + generous bonus.

Schedule: Hybrid (2 days in office per week).

This position will report to the SVP of Life Science Portfolio Management, but work extremely closely with the Co‐Head of

Life Science, San Diego as well as the Senior Director of Asset Management. This role will focus on leasing support, market

data, broker relationships, capital projects, forecasting/budgeting and various asset management duties.


Leasing / Development / Tenant Buildout

  • Focus on industry outreach, building relationships with brokers and other third‐party vendors and partners
  • Assist with leasing process (vacant space tours, lease proposals / documents, etc.)
  • Maintain new business and asset management task pipeline
  • Assist with asset acquisition / disposition process
  • Provide landlord oversight of 3rd party project managers on tenant improvement and capital expenditure projects

Portfolio Management

  • Responsible for San Diego tenant credit monitoring
  • Work with property management to review and abstract leases as well as build out QuickBase system to ensure compliance
  • Create and coordinate transfer analyses, non‐disclosure agreements, notice of defaults and other asset management related tasks
  • Assist with coordination of post lease / acquisition activities and integration of tenants / assets
  • Participate in monthly senior management update meetings
  • Partner with third party property management teams to develop business plans aimed to drive achievement of key operational goals and objectives

Job Description

  • Work with internal and external partners to develop annual budgets and monthly forecasts to predict performance
  • Run mark to market analysis for San Diego
  • Work with data analytics team to track vacancies, sublease activity, leasing activity and supply in the market
  • Analyze portfolio and asset performance trends, including identifying opportunities for repositioning, development, and dispositions
  • Leverage financial, market, and industry data to identify opportunities/risks within portfolio


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, majoring in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or Healthcare Financial Services
  • 3 to 5 years of commercial real estate (life science real estate experience preferred)
  • High level of proficiency utilizing spreadsheet programs (including Microsoft Excel) and presentation programs (including PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Detail‐oriented and strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem‐solving skills
  • Teamwork, leadership, and relationship‐building capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‐paced, dynamic work environment
  • Valid driver’s license and car
