Accounts Receivable Management:

  • Sr. Accountant will primarily be responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable and cash application processes. This person will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely and accurate receivables reporting and accounting and analysis. This position is an integral part of the accounting close process and contributes to the overall success of the organization.
  • Responsible for the accounts receivable function, ensuring accurate and timely system reporting and invoicing, payment
  • collections, and customer account reconciliations
  • Monitor outstanding customer balances, identify delinquent accounts, and implement appropriate collection procedures
  • Work closely with customers and marketing team to resolve billing inquiries, disputes, and discrepancies
  • Perform periodic aging analysis and reporting to evaluate accounts receivable performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Oversee and execute the cash application process, accurately and efficiently applying cash receipts to customer accounts
  • Reconcile discrepancies and resolve issues related to cash application
  • Monitor and analyze unapplied cash, unidentified payments, and unallocated funds, taking appropriate actions to
  • resolve outstanding items promptly
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including billing, collections, and customer service, to address any discrepancies or payment-related concerns

Accounting, Reporting, and Analysis:

  • Ensure appropriate accounting set up on all contracts
  • Record receivables and cash application activities in sub-ledger and general ledger
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and reconciliations
  • Conduct financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making processes
  • Periodically present financial analysis to management team related to receivables and collections
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial
  • statement preparation
  • Support system upgrades or implementations as necessary
  • Compliance and Process Improvement:
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations
  • Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is preferred
  • 3-5 years’ Accounting experience
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or in a similar role, with a focus on cash application, accounts receivable
  • management, and technical budgeting
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
