PAYROLL SUPERVISOR

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the review, verification, and gathering of field timecards by payroll specialist.
  • Verify weekly payroll entered into the accounting system by payroll specialist.
  • Compile and track all wage garnishments as required.
  • Supervise the set-up and management of field & office employees in the accounting system. Field employees are processed by the payroll specialist and office employees are processed by the payroll supervisor.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll for office staff in both California and Nevada.
  • Calculate and monitor vacation and sick time accruals for office employees.
  • Supervise the completion and filing of all OCIP, CCIP or certified payroll documents in project specific formats as required.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of union fringe calculation and reporting.
  • Respond and complete all OCIP, CCIP, and union audits in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and file monthly workers compensation reports and facilitate online payments.
  • Calculate weekly payroll tax payments and schedule payments online.
  • Prepare quarterly payroll tax returns for California, Nevada and at the Federal level.
  • Prepare/update labor rates by trade and geographical area for Estimating and Project Management.
  • Prepare annual W-2’s and 1095-C’s for the company.
  • Set up and maintain payroll relevant electronic files per job.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma. Associates or bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred.
  • 10 years related payroll experience. Payroll experience in construction preferred.
  • Proven ability to write, fix, edit and enrich grammar, format, and structure of professional correspondence.
  • Ability to supervise and maintain multiple ongoing projects.
  • High attention to detail, aptitude for learning new things and must be able to work under pressure.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Plexxis accounting and project management
  • software preferred.
