GL ACCOUNTANT (PAYROLL)

Responsibilities:

  • Support all duties associated with the accurate recording of payroll, and related financial close.
  • Perform all general ledger functions related to payroll, including but not limited to; balancing and recording all payroll related journal entries, accruals, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, month end close, etc.
  • Prepare and record payroll, and employment tax related re-class journal entries.
  • Support the semi-monthly, biweekly and weekly US and Canada payroll processes with UltiPro, posting payroll Journal Entries.
  • Reconcile accounts with the general ledger and ensure that all entries are accurate.
  • Preform all PTO (US and Canada) and wage accrual.
  • Labor and FP&A allocation (US and Canada)
  • Conduct all 401K, FSA, payroll cash, etc. reconciliations and work with all teams to troubleshoot any errors.
  • Analyze and submit all UKG billing and payments.
  • Review journal entries and rec for GL.
  • Works closely with cross-functional teams on all general ledger related tasks, including accounting close.
  • Evaluate and recommend process changes to increase efficiency.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Possess knowledge of payroll-related requirements and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in Accounting or Finance discipline
  • Expert in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Analytical skills, ability to interpret and communicate financial information
  • 3+ years of prior general ledger/accounting experience within a mid-size or large company
  • Payroll accounting experience highly preferred
  • Exposure to a large payroll system preferred (ADP, Ceridian, etc)
