ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Responsibilities:

  • Review quarterly ASC 606 revenue calculation, intercompany profit elimination entries, and earnings per share calculation
  • Review leases in accordance with ASC 842 and support lease reporting for leases that fall outside the scope of ASC 842
  • Review and/or support the preparation of debt and equity-related calculations, including debt covenant, debt fair value, swap, and other comprehensive income
  • Review quarter-end close schedules submitted by plants required for financial reporting
  • Prepare routine memos (including but not limited to topics related to ASC 350, 360)
  • Assist in supporting significant accounting transactions which includes contract review, financial reporting research, white paper preparation, and collaboration with various functional groups (internal and external)
  • Review and assist with month-end entries and account reconciliations
  • Support the preparation, review and filing of 10-Q, 10-K, and other filings with the SEC, which includes US GAAP and SEC disclosure checklists and monitoring progress against reporting calendar milestones
  • Serve as an administrator backup for Cognos Controller
  • Assist in the support of requests for financial information from external and internal groups including external auditors
  • Collaborate with internal personnel and external accounting advisors and other specialists to support key projects and initiatives
  • Identification and implementation of process improvements and automation opportunities

Requirements:

  • Education: BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field;
  • CPA required (or in process)
  • 5+ years of experience in a related accounting/finance capacity;
  • 3+ years of public accounting experience (Big 4 or National firm)
  • Experience dealing with technical reporting matters is a plus
  • Experience with software such as Cognos Controller, GreatPlains, and/or Alteryx is a plus
  • Competent knowledge of FASB reporting requirements, accounting principles, and practices
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products; advanced MS Excel skills
