SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews all new product costs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identifies fixed versus variable costs and key drivers related to profitability.
  • Compares planned costs to actuals and identifies cause of variances.
  • Prepares cost of goods budget based on BOM and routing details.
  • Analyzes product profitability and identifies opportunities.
  • Assists in month-end and year-end closing, specifically relating to cost of goods.
  • Identifies monthly purchase price variance and impact to profitability.
  • Advises management of key issues related to product costs.
  • Works with operations departments to identify capital expenditures and ROI.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of Cost Accounting experience
  • Manufacturing industry experience – Personal Care Products exposure highly preferred
  • Exposure to month end close through financial statements preferred
  • Solid exposure to inventory accounting
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • SAP experience a plus
