SENIOR COST ACCOUNTANT

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews manufacturing operations data to identify cost savings opportunities
  • Provide reporting of the key performance indicators for the plant’s yields; efficiency and quantify their respective financial impact.
  • Work with Plant’s Finance & Operations Teams to provide cost analyses as appropriate and identify areas of cost improvements.
  • In conjunction with Controller, provide new product costs
  • Perform post launch audits of new SKU’s to ensure accuracy of Pricing structure
  • Perform post launch audit of Capital projects justified by Labor or Operational improvements
  • Performs margin analysis on a per SKU, per customer basis and report to management.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement as appropriate.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of annual standard cost roll
  • Generate Ad-Hoc information (Operational related) to support the analysis of business performance.
  • Works within cross functional teams to ensure best use of systems, processes are utilized to educate and affect the decision-making process
  • Provide analytical support to the Site Plant Management or other Senior Management as requested.
  • Assist in implementing consistent cost accounting policies, methods and practices for the company.
  • Assist in period end close procedures, account reconciliations, roll forwards, and journal entries.
  • Assess period end inventory reserve exposure for slow moving and obsolescence.

Requirements:

  • In depth knowledge of cost accounting theory and methodology (BOM, PPV, Inventory, etc)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; and 4-7 years of related, progressive work experience
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office application, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks under time constraints
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to interact well with all levels of management, team members and external stakeholder
