SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (REVENUE RECOGNITION)

Responsibilities:

  • Contract Evaluation – Review sales arrangements for unusual provisions, bundled deliverables, or multiple performance obligations, making sure revenue is handled in line with U.S. GAAP and international standards (ASC 606 / IFRS 15).
  • Technical Revenue Analysis – Interpret contract terms, document conclusions, and collaborate with sales, finance, and legal teams to align business goals with accounting requirements.
  • Close & Reporting Activities – Contribute to monthly financial close by reconciling accounts, preparing entries for deferred revenue and royalties, and analyzing period-over-period revenue results.
  • Transaction Support – Participate in due diligence and integration workstreams for mergers and acquisitions, with a focus on revenue-related issues.
  • Audit & Controls – Work directly with external auditors, providing schedules and evidence to support revenue recognition decisions and demonstrate compliance with internal control processes.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects – Deliver analysis and insights for leadership and cross-functional partners to aid in operational decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Education & Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent training).
  • 2+ years of public accounting experience. CPA a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding of revenue recognition standards under ASC 606 and IFRS 15. Prior exposure to contract review and revenue-focused accounting within an industry setting is preferred.
  • Tools & Systems: Comfort with ERP platforms (Oracle, Hyperion, or similar) and strong Excel proficiency for financial modeling and analysis.
  • Professional Traits: Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple priorities. Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the flexibility to work independently or as part of a team.
