DIRECTOR OF FINANCE

  • Consolidate and interpret financial inputs from plants and regions into total North America region budget and forecast.
  • Build bottoms up plant level budgets with input from the plant Controllers.
  • Score plant financial performance with metrics on the basis of KPI’s like BPP, yield, ASP and others
  • Manage, train and develop team at HQ site. Ensure team is trained to understand basic tenants of their roles including a mastery over all forecasting process, budgeting methodology, plant financial performance and Virtual (alternative end market) Profit and Loss reporting and results.
  • Monitor team progress in meeting deliverables, remove roadblocks, help resolve issues and address management questions.
  • Plan staffing succession, recruit, hire/fire, and counsel on staff performance for the entire team.
  • Budget for COO and NA HQ cost groups.
  • Work closely with COO, 4 Vice President of Operations, VP of Finance and Regional Controllers to suggest improvements to the business model (both strategic and tactical), plant areas of focus, cost and margin decision to optimize plant results.
  • Interact as go between for regional finance group and plants as well as corporate stakeholders (VP Controller, VP Corporate FP&A).
  • Bring a positive “can-do” attitude that is not discouraged by obstacles that come while pursuing goals.
  • Facilitate and strengthen communications and business relationship between finance and the other functional areas of the business. Reach across departments and sites to increase collaboration and nurture relationships with peer groups within the company.
  • Lead efforts to create and facilitate more effective financial/cost consciousness in everyday business activities and in order to help enhance plants margin profiles.
  • Recommend revisions to budgets and business plans on interim basis in response to changing business conditions.
  • Oversee administrative, financial and operational systems and procedures for the plants.
  • Direct financial analysis to support business decisions in areas of capital investment, staffing levels, review of cost-drivers, process improvements, product costing and pricing.
  • Exhibit a “readiness” to “buy-in” to the business and culture from day one.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • 10+ years of finance experience in a large manufacturing company (Fast-paced, $500M+ companies)
  • Multi-plant or Multi-location experience required (5+ locations preferred)
  • Supervisory experience over a team of at least several finance professionals.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting experience needed.
  • Experience in public accounting and good understanding of Sarbanes Oxley is a plus.
  • Accounting experience in a management role is a plus.
  • Experience with Cognos/Oracle software is a plus.
