The CFO will work closely with the CEO and will be a part of the senior team which meets regularly to strategically grow and enhance the bank. This individual has the overall responsibility for planning, controlling, and directing the bank’s accounting and financial reporting systems, asset/liability management, investment portfolio, budgeting, and funds management.  The position will also be responsible for the Information Technology (IT) and Human Resources (HR) department. The CFO will be an efficient, organized individual with the ability to perform complex tasks in a timely manner without direct supervision.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the bank’s senior management and strategic planning teams and participate significantly in developing overall policies, programs, objectives, and goals.
  • Review and stay current with GAAP, legislation, and legal decisions and other regulations affecting the bank to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations affecting the operation and management of the bank. Oversee financial regulatory report preparation and submission (call report and other).
  • Responsible for accounting including general ledger, purchasing, accounts payable activities, payroll and taxes. Manage 3rd party audit relationships and processes. Develop, implement, and monitor accounting policies, procedures, practices and internal controls; establish and maintain accounting, and fiscal controls and the preparation and interpretation of internal and external financial reports.
  • Manage the Bank’s financial reporting process to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
  • Prepare and present appropriate monthly/quarterly/annual Board of Directors reports.
  • Responsible for financial modeling/budgeting and analysis as it pertains to annual plan, quarterly updates, ad-hoc analysis, IRR analysis and other strategic initiatives.
  • Assist and/or lead in Corporate Governance and Corporate Structure Initiatives
  • Work closely with Compliance Officer including researching complex issues and performing or overseeing internal audit functions.
  • Responsible for Information technology including strategic planning, oversight of IT Team and corresponding functions, compliance, third party IT vendor management and business continuity planning.
  • Responsible for Human Resources including managing 3rd party HR provider, Insurance programs and payroll. Oversee employee benefit plants and act as trustee for 401k plan.
  • Responsible for Vendor Management including oversight of planning, vendor review/due diligence, contract negotiation, ongoing monitoring and risk assessment.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of existing systems and procedures to ensure maximum operating efficiency and economy. Approve recommendations for automated systems or vendors. Oversee the equipment acquisition, including technology, and implementation process.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the bank security program is managed effectively to protect the assets, building, and employees.
  • Assumes responsibility for special projects; gathers data and prepares reports for the Board of Directors and other members of Senior Management, audits and other personnel.
  • Review innovations in the banking industry and evaluate their practicality and effectiveness. Direct research into new products and/or concepts that could increase operating efficiency, profits, and/or market share.
