CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST

Overview: Seeking a Construction Technology Specialist to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of operational systems and processes. This role will oversee system deployment, compliance workflows, documentation, and user adoption. It will also support improvements in areas like dispatch, job costing, and equipment tracking as time allows.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a construction background, strong communication skills, and a sharp eye for detail. They should be a confident, solutions-oriented individual who can bridge technical tools with field operations, ensure compliance, and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Technology Implementation & Support
• Deploy and configure new construction software and digital tools.
• Lead the deployment, training, and optimization of digital systems for time tracking, labor coding, and field operations, ensuring adoption and compliance.
• Create and manage implementation roadmaps, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Conduct a comprehensive review of system history, requirements, and previous decisions to inform deployment strategy.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with HR, payroll, legal, operations, and technology teams to ensure aligned execution.
• Facilitate communication between departments and stakeholders to ensure operational alignment and timely decision-making.
• Document decisions, issues, and resolutions throughout the process to maintain transparency and accountability.

2. Compliance & Data Integrity
• Manage client and internal compliance processes, including labor requirements and documentation workflows, ensuring all submissions, approvals, and deadlines are met accurately and on time.
• Ensure all timekeeping policies and workflows comply with state and federal labor laws and internal policies.
• Monitor project data and conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with internal policies.
• Lead recurring check-ins with HR, payroll, legal, and field leaders to review progress and maintain alignment.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for compliance-related workflows tied to workforce systems and client expectations.

3. Process Optimization, Automation & Analytics
• Identify opportunities for automation to reduce manual data entry and streamline key processes.
• Lead the development and integration of dashboards, tracking tools (e.g., GPS), and workforce tech to improve visibility and site connectivity.
• Collaborate with sales, estimating, and operations teams to deliver insights and optimize planning processes.
• Support leadership with relevant digital workforce data and continuous workflow refinement.

4. Field Technology Support & Training
• Serve as the liaison between field teams, IT, and system developers to resolve issues, gather feedback, and improve usability.
• Assist field teams with mobile applications, tablets, and cloud-based platforms.
• Create and deliver tailored training programs for field personnel, including those with limited technical experience.
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support for tech adoption.
• Maintain and distribute key updates, meeting notes, and action items to keep all stakeholders informed.

5. Dispatch & Operations Support
• Provide operational support to dispatch, including stepping in to support managing daily crew and equipment assignments, scheduling, and field coordination
• Provide dispatch coverage when needed to ensure continuity in communication and field logistics
• Facilitate and track daily job costs in coordination with field management
• Use technology and tools like Viewpoint, Trimble, or other dispatch software to streamline operations
• Oversee invoice coding, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Own all servicing and maintenance coordination for company vehicles
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and support continuous improvement in dispatch-related processes and communication between field and office

 

Required Qualifications:
• 2+ years of hands-on construction experience with strong tech fluency
• Proven ability to learn and apply new software systems quickly
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Clear communicator with the ability to train and support diverse users
• Familiarity with job costing, project workflows, and field operations

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with workforce and time tracking software
• Data analysis and dashboard creation experience
• Knowledge of GPS tracking or fleet management tools
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
