SENIOR OR MANAGER OF FINANCIAL REPORTING (TITLE WILL DEPEND ON EXPERIENCE)
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes for required SEC reports and filings (10-Q’s and 10-K’s), including XBRL tagging and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
- Prepare and compile SEC supporting schedules.
- Participate in the implementation, development and maintenance of new financial reporting software and tools with a view toward improved efficiencies.
- Assist Legal department with preparation of the annual proxy statement and other SEC filings (e.g., 8-Ks).
- Review of third-party due diligence and marketing materials, as needed.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, variance analysis and other special projects, as needed.
- Participate in the research, interpretation and application of GAAP accounting standards and SEC guidance as it relates to accounting policies and specific business transactions to ensure compliance.
- Interface with various departments (e.g., Investor Relations, Investments, Asset Management, Property Accounting and legal) to fulfill the above responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and CPA is required.
- A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of accounting experience, preferably at a Big 4 firm or large, public company.
- Experience researching, resolving, documenting, and communicating technical accounting and SEC reporting matters.
- Experience with MRI, BPC, and/or Workiva is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
